ESI Registration - An Overview
ESI Registration (Employee State Insurance Registration) is a mandatory compliance requirement under the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948. Every establishment employing 10 or more employees (in most states) with wages up to ₹21,000 per month is required to register with the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

Upon successful registration, the employer receives an Employer Code Number (17-digit unique identification), and each employee is assigned an Insurance Number (IP Number). The employer must file monthly returns and deposit contributions by the 15th of each month through the ESIC portal.

Step-by-Step Process for ESI Registration
Step 1: Document Collection

Step 7: Employer Code Issuance
Upon verification, the unique 17-digit Employer Code Number is issued for all ESI contributions and filings. Typically issued within 5-7 working days.
