What is Advance Tax?
Advance tax refers to the payment of income tax in installments during the financial year, rather than as a lump sum at the end. It is also known as the "pay-as-you-earn" scheme. If your total tax liability for the year (after deducting TDS/TCS) is ₹10,000 or more, you are legally required to pay advance tax.
Avoid Penalties
Paying on time saves you from heavy interest charges under Sections 234B and 234C of the Income Tax Act.
Better Cash Flow
Spreading your tax payments across four installments helps in better financial planning and cash management.
