Starting from July 1, 2024: Revised DSC Issuance Process Aligned with IVG Guidelines

Important Updates to Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs) Effective July 1, 2024

Enhanced Security and Streamlined Processes for Everyone

We’re making important changes to the way Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs) are issued, starting July 1, 2024. These updates are mandated by the Office of CCA to improve data security, simplify operations, and provide a better experience for all.

For Individuals Getting DSCs:

  • Stronger Data Protection: Your personal information and eKYC details will be secured with stricter protocols. Business Partners will no longer have access to this data.
  • Clearer Billing: Invoices for your DSC will come directly from Certifying Authorities (CAs) like eMudhra, XtraTrust, etc. This simplifies billing and ensures transparency.
  • Easier Application Process: You’ll apply through a dedicated link from EVERSIGN. This link will be specific to your application and include a unique reference code for tracking.
  • Potential Price Increase: As mentioned earlier, DSC prices might increase due to stricter compliance requirements. We’ll keep you informed of any changes.

For Businesses Enrolling Customers for DSCs (Formerly Registration Authorities):

  • New Designation: Business Partner: You’ll now be known as a Business Partner, reflecting your expanded role in the DSC ecosystem.
  • Dedicated Dashboard: A new Business Partner Dashboard will launch in July. This will give you access to reports for efficient commission tracking and management.
  • Limited Data Access: To comply with data privacy regulations, you’ll no longer have access to applicants’ personal data or eKYC information.
  • Separate Enrollment Process: You’ll use a dedicated enrollment link provided by EVERSIGN for customer enrollments. This link will include a unique reference code for tracking.
  • Direct Invoicing to Applicants: Certifying Authorities (CAs) will invoice applicants directly, streamlining the billing process for you.
  • Settlement for Existing Counters: We’ll communicate details about settling existing counters to ensure you benefit from this transition.

Overall Benefits:

  • Increased Security: Enhanced data protection for everyone.
  • Simplified Processes: Clearer billing and streamlined enrollment.
  • Improved Efficiency: New tools and dedicated enrollment for Business Partners.
